1997 GT Lightning 19" titanium MTB frame

This MTB frame is in excellent condition. After a short active life this frame was stored and never used since. And that shows! The "March '97" sticker is still there under the bottom bracket!

The satin finish of the titanium is still smooth as silk. There is hardly any cable rub visible. On the drive side triangle there is a scratch, probably due to storage over time. I will be happy to provide the next owner with a matching "Triple Triangle" decal to cover this affection up ;) Check the pics for that!

Further, as said, the frame is in mint, like new, condition. The rare 19" size (fit for 26" wheels) makes this frame a perfect base for the somewhat larger Retro MTB geek.

The GT Lightning frames were known as the "budget" version of the Xizang flagships, produced in Taiwan instead of US. But, since these frames were only produced in 1997 and 1998 they are almost harder to find than its big brother, which was produced for as long as a decade. Where the Xizang's were polished titanium, the Lightning has this smooth (like anodized) darker finish, very chique!

Please check the pics for the condition of this frame, mind that the decals are like new also. There is no sign of chain suck, and hardly an imprint of the QR's at the dropouts. All windings are in top shape. The smooth state of the top of the seat tube shows this frame is hardly used indeed. Brake bosses also show no signs of wear. Counts also for the cable guide under the BB.

This frame comes with a complete Chris King NoThreadSet headset in black (base plate and top cap included).
